The Daily Telegraph has some RSS 2.0 feeds available, so go forth and aggregate.
For a while now I have been singing the praises of “FeedDemon”:http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon/index.asp, Nick Bradbury’s very good RSS reader. I still think its a great product, however a couple of niggles caused me to look elsewhere. Firstly, with FeedDemon its a bit of a pain to synchronise my blogroll between sites.…
FeedDemon 1.0 Release Candidate 3 is now available – as always check release notes before installing. It looks like this will be the last release candidate before the full release – guess I’ll finally have to pay for this excellent product!
I have decided to deprecate support for the “older RSS 1.0 feed”:http://www.magpiebrain.com/index.rdf, in preference for a newer “2.0 feed”:http://www.magpiebrain.com/index.xml. If your reading this via an aggregator it might be an idea to swap over now. I’ll probably still generate the old feed, for a while longer, but won’t be doing…
I’ve been reliably informed that the “Telegraph(Telegraph.co.uk)”:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ are currently carrying out experiments with RSS, and are planning on rolling the service out in the near future. I don’t know if there are going to be any restrictions on the service yet (e.g. ads in the feeds etc), but I’ll let…
I’ve just found that “FeedDemon”:http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon/index.asp will synchronise with an on-line OPML file! This is very handy for me, as I use FeedMonster at home and work. I uploaded an exported OPML file using MT and it worked a treat. At the only a one-way synchronisation though.
quickSub is an opensource Javascript popup, designed to allow people to add the ability to quickly subscribe to a feed. Its a little too in-your-face for my money – the popup triggers when you rollover an icon, and you have to click a link to close it. A better method…
I think I can create an “Echo feed”:http://www.intertwingly.net/blog/1506.html. Looking at how MovableType handles construction of its RDF feeds I should be able to do it – lets just hope MovableTyps tags provide enough information. If its as easy as I think I may even create a version that follows “Simon’s…
lein-gentags: Generate TAGS file for your Clojure code
Some yak shaving while playing around with Riemann resulted in me creating my first leiningen plugin, lein-gentags. It uses etags based on instructions from Nurullah Akkaya’s original blogpost – perfect for improving navigation of Clojure code in Emacs. Feedback appreciated!
