So, I got home a little late with the full knowledge that I had lots to do tonight. My stereo needed packing up before I take it to the local “Rega”:http://www.rega.co.uk/ trader for “repairs(magpiebrain – My CD Player)”:http://www.magpiebrain.com/archives/000012.html, I had to follow up a couple of issues related to my work with the “Informa(Informa – A Java RSS API)”:http://informa.sourceforge.net/ library, and I needed to get on with my second article concerning Java and RSS. I managed to stop myself playing “Planetside”:http://www.planetside.com/, however still then spent an hour trying out the “FeedMonster”:http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon/beta/index.asp agregator and the “w.bloggar”:http://wbloggar.com/ blog client, and then started watching “Dante’s Peak”:http://us.imdb.com/Title?0118928 of all things (good in a “Deep Impact”:http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120647 kind of way). Needless to say the next couple of days need to be allot more productive – I’m planning to go to the “Summer Sundae”:http://www.bbc.co.uk/leicester/music/2003/06/summer_sundae_preview.shtml in Leicester this weekend and need to have my first draft done of the second article by the middle of next week…..

My hunt for a new anti-virus program have lead me to “Panda Software’s”:http://www.pandasoftware.com/ “Titanium”:http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/titanium/. I’ve installed the trial version and so far all seems well. I’ll let it bed in for a week or so and if I like it will probably pop over to amazon to “pick it up (Panda Titanium at Amazon)”:http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000069KQS/qid=1059555787/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_2/026-6546191-6695604. I would buy and download it direct from them, but the cost to download the product is the same as purchasing a normal copy, which seems bloody stupid to me – I’d much rather have a CD and manual in my hands, unless its a lot cheaper just to download it.
Well, my yearly upgrade license for Norton Anti-Virus has finally come to an end, so I’m starting the search for a new anti-virus program. I’d like to use “Sophos”:http://www.sophos.com/, as not only is it very good but its a British company, but they are a little pricey. If I don’t find anything better I’ll just renew my Norton subscription or upgrade to “Norton Anti-virus Pro”:http://www.symantec.com/region/reg_eu/product/navpro_index.html.
I’ve been planning to write some ‘about’ style pages for a while, and realised the best way to do it is with MovableType. I’ll create each one as an entry and stick their permalinks on the right side-bar, so expect them shortly. I guess if I was doing it properly I’d have them in their own blog. Anyhoo, expect a brief biog and technical about section soonish.

Its had the effect of making me want to play right now, however whilst the mind is willing, the flesh is extermely tired…
